The Defense Department announced July 7 a period of eligibility determination for the new Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) program. Now every member of the selected reserve will have the option to purchase health coverage from Tricare. Coverage will begin Oct. 1, 2006, with the period to determine eligibility running from July 1 through Sept. 25. Selected Reservists must have their eligibility verified by their service personnel office and complete DoD Form 2895, "Agreement to Serve in the Selected Reserve for TRICARE Reserve Select" before they can submit their application for TRS coverage.
