A beneficiary doesn't have to "sign up" for Tricare for Life. A military retiree who (1) is drawing retired pay; (2) is enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B; (3) has a current military ID card; and (4) has up-to-date personal information in the DEERS database, is automatically eligible. The same goes for the spouse of a military retiree drawing retired pay and for a widow or widower of a military retiree who was drawing retired pay. |
