| 1. Mr. Richard Baltz, Director of South Texas Veterans Health Care System, STVHCS, met with council for the first time. We were pleased that he and/or staff will continue to attend our monthly meeting. We feel, we have a very good working relationship with him. Ms. Jennifer Purdy briefed us on progress and needed improvements they are working on. Please check the STVHCS Performance Dashboard for the April 08 website. Ms. Robin Gutierrez, Administrator for the Kerrville Division, briefed us on progress of items of interest we brought up at our last meeting; a. Main elevators should be replaced this year. Elevators between basement and second floor are scheduled for next year. b. Ice machine on the 5th floor repaired, but old, all new ice machines placed on order. c. New Pulmonary Function equipment on site will be operational soon. d. All new Cardiac Monitoring equipment being installed at present should be operational soon for entire STVHCS. e. New C. T. scanner equipment should be installed in July or August. 2. A number of activities scheduled at the KVAMC starting April 29. Check KVAMC website or call volunteer services for more information. Everyone is invited to all of these. 3. Memorial Day activities: Thursday May 22, 1800 hours-Honoring Veterans, Bank of the Hills Monday 26, 1000 hours-Veterans Cemetery, Spur 100, near KVAMC Monday 26, 1400 hours-Court House War Memorial Salute: To all Veterans and service members from, HCVC; working to keep KVAMC as a viable and vital hospital for the health treatment of all veterans. |
